MFT Creative Olympics Event 2

Challenge is to create any card with a winter theme

I am so in love with this adorable card! I started with the stitched collage frame, added a scene on the right side with the Pure Innocence ice skater and on the left side I chose to fill the three openings with plaid background and a snowflake die cut. The ice skater was paper-pieced with the plaid for her scarf and skirt and a solid pink sweater and leggings. The remainder of the little girl was colored with colored pencils. I added glimmer mist in pearl to the blue background to resemble falling snow. Die cut stitched valleys and 3 winter trees were added to the scene. Finally I've added a piece of transparency behind the lower right section to resemble ice.

Supplies:
Cardstock - MFT  (tickled pink, berrylicious)
Patterned Paper - MFT  (homespun gingham, subtle plaids)
Stamp - MFT  (PI ice skater)
Dies - MFT (ice skater, let it snowflake too, winter trees, stitched valley, stitched collage frame)
Ink - MFT (extreme black)
Colored Pencils - Prismacolor
Glitter Dots - Gina Marie Designs
Transparency - Scotch
Glimmer Mist - Tattered Angels (pearl)

Mittens

For Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #236 Just in time to make the midnight deadline for this sketch challenge. This one was a little bit on the technical side for me to figure out the size and placement of the stripes. I placed white strips down and then added striped washi tape on top. Adding the mittens on a square and finishing them with black matte brads from Bazzill. The stamp is from Hot Off the Press.

Atlantic Hearts #238

My supply of sympathy cards is quite depleted so I thought I would use this week's challenge sketch to create something simple and yet soothing using a yellow and white color scheme. This card began with an embossed layer by M'press with a round frame in the middle, I then added a stamped greeting by MSE and surrounded it with varied yellow flowers by Prima. I put Ranger liquid pearls in the center of each flower. I decided on an additional thin layer of black behind the white embossing to help ground the black lettering in the center. Hope you'll play along with us as the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/
