Paper Players #370 & Inspired By #72

I have always admired cards with a white on white color scheme and have been wanting to give it a try so this week I combined these two challenges to create this card. The first layer has craft foam behind it to give dimension. I embossed it with a snowflake folder by Darice. The next layer is also popped up with craft foam to add another slight shadow in the white on white colors. I diecut the word Joy and adhered it to the stitched mini scallop circle. Each snowflake has glitter added with the wink of stella pen and tiny pearl beads have been added throughout the snowflakes. It turned out very pretty and I was happy with the end result. Hope you'll join us in these fun challenges. It is definitely helpful in encouraging me to try new things.

Atlantic Hearts #238

My supply of sympathy cards is quite depleted so I thought I would use this week's challenge sketch to create something simple and yet soothing using a yellow and white color scheme. This card began with an embossed layer by M'press with a round frame in the middle, I then added a stamped greeting by MSE and surrounded it with varied yellow flowers by Prima. I put Ranger liquid pearls in the center of each flower. I decided on an additional thin layer of black behind the white embossing to help ground the black lettering in the center.
Hope you'll play along with us as the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Always Fun #32 Pumpkins

http://alwaysfunchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/challenge-32.html

The challenge was pumpkins so I used this stamp from Pure Innocence named Li'l Pumpkin. Her dress and tights are paper-pieced from some of the papers from the same My Mind's Eye Reunion paper stack as the elements of the page. The card was finished with baker's twine (Doodlebug) and punched flowers with Nuvo drop centers.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #237

I bought the MFT Stitched Flowers dies a while back and have been waiting for a good time to play with them. When I saw this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts I knew it would be a good time to practice with the various flowers. Some flowers are multiple layers while others are single layers all cut from shades of blues from the coordinating papers. I added leaves from the stitched flowers die and sprigs from the sprightly sprigs die by Verve. The papers are DCWV Linen Closet matstack and cardstock matstack. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white. The card was finished by adding Nuvo drops to the flower centers in glitter white blizzard, glitter emerald city, and crystal ivory seashell. TFL

MFTWSC #358

Clean and simple was the design for this card using the sketch at MFT. I started with the Linen Closet matstack by DCWV for the papers and colors for this card. I used and edge punch by Martha Stewart called botanical scallop to add some interest across the card along with some baker's twine tied in a simple knot. MFT stitched flowers, stitched circles, and stitched oval were used for the elements of the card. I'm unsure about the manufacturer of the sentiment stamp.

Color Throw down #468

My grandmother was an awesome quilter and I wanted to try working with quilt patterns in some of my cards. I started with a die from Gina Marie Designs and the colors from this week's challenge at Color Throwdown. I found a beautiful paper with fall leaves from Paper Studio to add interest to my "quilt". The inside sentiment is by Stampin' Up and it reads, "Thinking of you at this time of year, and though we are miles apart, may the special love that's sent your way keep us close at heart." I think I will be sending this to my mother who lives a long distance away. TFL

"Magic" challenge at KKS

I always perform magic while baking so this stamp from Lulu and friends was my choice for this challenge.  I combined it with the Nov sketch turned sideways and used the Savory papers from Little Yellow Bicycle. Hope you have a sweet day!

Mittens

For Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #236

Just in time to make the midnight deadline for this sketch challenge. This one was a little bit on the technical side for me to figure out the size and placement of the stripes. I placed white strips down and then added striped washi tape on top. Adding the mittens on a square and finishing them with black matte brads from Bazzill. The stamp is from Hot Off the Press.

Freshly Made Sketch 311

Decided on a digital image by Heather Ellis with the little girl and her stack of gifts. The sentiment is from Verve stamps called holiday treats. Using the sketch pretty closely with papers from a Christmas mats tack by DCWV I used traditional Christmas colors of red and green, coloring the image with colored pencils and added a heart shaped button to finish it.

KKS Wed Challenge

Didn't get this done in time for the Halloween challenge but thought I would share on the Anything Goes Wednesday post. I worked with the Nov. Sketch and a stamp from Hey There, Punkin'. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and used papers from Hot Off the Press, DCWV, and Core'dinations.

Tuesday Morning Sketch #427

Digital image by Wee Stamps called Holly is the focus of this adorable winter card. I used colored pencils to color her. MFT stitched circle die and in and out stitched rounded square die for the shapes. A crossed the top I used a glittery fiber and added a plastic snowflake charm. To finish it off I used my wink of Stella to add glitter to the snow and her wand.
