Rainbow Challenge at Casual Fridays

Here's my second card for the challenge. Used paper from the MFT 6x6 paper pad called Birthday Blowout for the background and stripes. I cut the shaped piece of white cardstock and inset the letters from different colors and stamped the ït's your birthday"underneath. I added a hand cut piece to the letter I to make it look like a candle with flame.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - MFT (Birthday Blowout 6x6)
Dies - MFT (All Smiles), Spellbinders (Labels 25)
Stamp - MFT (All Smiles)
Ink - Versafine (Onyx Black)
Wink of Stella clear
baker's twine
Zig Clean Color Markers for flame

Paper Players #370 & Inspired By #72

I have always admired cards with a white on white color scheme and have been wanting to give it a try so this week I combined these two challenges to create this card. The first layer has craft foam behind it to give dimension. I embossed it with a snowflake folder by Darice. The next layer is also popped up with craft foam to add another slight shadow in the white on white colors. I diecut the word Joy and adhered it to the stitched mini scallop circle. Each snowflake has glitter added with the wink of stella pen and tiny pearl beads have been added throughout the snowflakes. It turned out very pretty and I was happy with the end result. Hope you'll join us in these fun challenges. It is definitely helpful in encouraging me to try new things. http://inspiredbyallthelittlethings.blogspot.com/ http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/

Mittens

For Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #236 Just in time to make the midnight deadline for this sketch challenge. This one was a little bit on the technical side for me to figure out the size and placement of the stripes. I placed white strips down and then added striped washi tape on top. Adding the mittens on a square and finishing them with black matte brads from Bazzill. The stamp is from Hot Off the Press.

Atlantic Hearts #238

My supply of sympathy cards is quite depleted so I thought I would use this week's challenge sketch to create something simple and yet soothing using a yellow and white color scheme. This card began with an embossed layer by M'press with a round frame in the middle, I then added a stamped greeting by MSE and surrounded it with varied yellow flowers by Prima. I put Ranger liquid pearls in the center of each flower. I decided on an additional thin layer of black behind the white embossing to help ground the black lettering in the center. Hope you'll play along with us as the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogspot.ca/
